Small Molecule and Metabolite Core

Overview of Services

Advance the quality and scope of your research with easy access to state-of-the-art quantitative analysis with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry, gas chromatography mass spectrometry and ion ratio mass spectrometry systems at the Small Molecule and Metabolite Core Laboratory.

Our helpful and friendly staff provides expertise for you to take advantage of the latest technological advances in quantitative analysis. We excel at a variety of small molecule quantitative bioanalytical applications:

  • Assay development, validation, and implementation for the concentration analysis of drugs, metabolites and biomarkers in:
    • blood, serum, plasma, urine, ultrafiltrate, and micro-dialysate
    • whole blood volumetric absorptive microsampling (VAMS) allowing for microsampling from a finger stick of blood
  • Fast assay development and analysis of drugs, metabolites and biomarkers in blood, plasma, serum and tissue homogenates of preclinical samples
  • Plasma protein binding
  • Formulation stability
  • Study start up

We’re happy to consult with you to plan, design, and develop unique approaches to your research project in academic, biotechnological, pharmaceutical, and clinical medicine. All investigators within and outside the CHOP/Penn campus are welcome to get started.
