Transgenic Core

Overview of Services

We are a state of the-art transgenic mouse core facility designed to assist research investigators with the development, creation, maintenance, and storage of valuable and novel mouse and rat models.  We perform procedures such as DNA, CRISPR mRNA and ES cell microinjections, CRISPR Cas9 RNP electroporations, embryo and sperm cryopreservation, and mouse line rederivation and rescue. The facility is located in the barrier unit of the CTRB animal facility.  The core consists of one animal room, which houses stock mice required for the production of transgenic and chimeric rodents, and a large fully dedicated procedure room where manipulations and surgical techniques occur. The Core is directed by Adele Harman, who established this facility in 2004 and has been actively involved in developing genetically engineered mouse models.
